Melissa's Approach

As a bodyworker, energy worker and holistic health care practitioner, Melissa engages in an integrative approach toward nurturing and balancing the body, mind, spirit and emotions for greater health and well-being.

She is skilled at deeply listening to and working with the Innate Intelligence and self-corrective mechanisms within each person, creating a felt sense of softening, release, and unwinding. Melissa is successful in relieving tension, holding patterns and congestion, which result in pain in various body parts, muscles, connective tissues and joints.  She works to create greater alignment and interface between the parts and whole, for better balance, function, posture, and energy. Melissa is drawn to creating sacred space to support the healing and empowerment of individuals dealing with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, chronic/complex/mysterious health conditions, tick-borne illnesses, highly-sensitive systems and spiritual crises. She is drawn to working with educators, veterans and people going through major life transitions, including births, separations and the end of life.

Melissa incorporates both Eastern and Western therapies into her sessions, employing Therapeutic Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Structural Integration, Myoskeletal Alignment, Zen Shiatsu, 5 Element Chinese Medicine, Breath Work, Energy Work, Creative Visualization, Yoga, Intuitive Stretching, Nutrition, Herbs, Supplements and Astrology to reduce pain, inflammation and stress; decrease muscular, joint and bone stiffness; lessen congestion, toxicity and unconscious holding patterns; increase range of motion; balance posture; stimulate circulation, respiration, digestion and elimination; calm and soothe the nervous system; strengthen the body’s resistance to disease; increase flow, understanding and ability to make necessary daily micro-adjustments; decrease resistance to challenges and change; and create space, lightness, stability and health, in addition to an overall sense of peace and well-being.
